Testimonials?!?!

What happens within the world of Conquest Conditioning and CrossFit style workouts is never an easy task to accomplish. I am asked the question again and again by different people why it is I do what I do. I'll share the answer to that question with you tomorrow as I do not want to skew the answers to today's all important post and comments. Today's post is nothing more than a mere question. Why do you do what we do? What motivates you to come back each day and push the levels of your personal fitness. To go beyond where it is you were and maybe where it is you should be. To look for an elusive next level. To put it all on the line. WHY?

I love conquest because it is a great stress release at the end of my day that allows me to keep fit so I can eat/drink whatever I want on the weekend and not feel like a slob!
I also love the community that it has created.
I also love the fact that it only takes an hour to change, do the warm up, work out and be on the road home.
I also love kicking Meyer's butt all over the place ;)
I also love our big teddy bear coach who always adds ten pounds to my work out!
I'm sure that I missing some other things I love about Conquest but these are some of them and it shows that I do it cause I love it!

I won't be in the next week or so as i went up to hit a ball in my volleyball game last night and came down awkwardly on my bad knee.

Why do i come to crossfit?
I believe that pushing myself every time i am in the gym gives me a sense of personal pride and accomplishment. Pushing myself physically as well as mentally keeps me on my toes and gives me a daily challenge. I love how accepting and ecouraging everyone is in the crossfit gym (including Crossfit Lethbridge- i went for a WOD last Saturday).

the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back to crossfit because it breaks away from the "weight room" typical gym environment where everyone is trying to outdo the other person and attain the "perfect" body image. I'm happy with my accomplishments and feel that people that strive for the "perfect" body image created by the media and popular culture are missing out on richer experiences.

I love Conquest because I am able to come to a place where I am not judged for what I do and accepted for who I am and for how hard or how slow I work. I love that I am able to push myself to my max and forget about everything that went on in the day...be spent, have a good sleep and come to school the next morning to take on the day at my best. It's tough out there and it's nice to have a corner in your day to let it all go.

I love the people in the Conquest community who work together and encourage each other. I love knowing that my body is getting stronger everyday. I love going home after a workout and impressing my kids when they hear that I just did 231 sit ups and push ups or that I can deadlift 215 pounds.I love the variety in our workouts and how at the end of each one I feel like I've really accomplished something. I hate burpees though... don't think that will ever change. :-)

Not Stout, he loooooves burpees. He even has a burpee workout named after him...

I actually like burpees, definitely more than DB Swings, My Curse!

Conquest keep me comign because of burpees - well, not really (though it is the only thing I can do faster than checkley). Conquest for me has been a mind transforming group. I hated lifting weights = boring, but liked the benefits of increasing my strength. Conquest has allowed me to get stronger without sacrificing my cardio base - actually I have increased my cardio base. I have been challenged to develop some fast twich muscle which is bringing balance to my running focus. More than anything the encouragement of the group keeps me coming back. Having a coach who is ready to listen and participants that work their hardest and encourage each other - create an environment where you can be yourself - learn something new - and leave HUNGRY (for food). Conquest is one of the best parts of my day.

Thanks everyone - you all make it happen.
